Is there an open balance after my deposit?

Yes. The initial deposit is to secure your interest and signal us to begin working on your profile. You are still required to pay the remainder of your Internship program once your internship placement is confirmed.

Are there any situations where I won’t receive my deposit back?

There a number of situations where it is not possible to get your deposit back:
– You have failed to complete your profile (or failed to provide English CV, Application letter and photo) within 3 weeks of your provided deadline.
– You have withdrawn your application without a legitimate reason. Consideration will be given in situations of bereavement, where you have fallen ill or other similar circumstances.
– You have failed to provide evidence from your University that an Internship we have arranged for you does not meet the University’s requirements.
– You have failed to keep adequate and timely Contact with us. While we prefer responses within two days, a response later than five days is considered late if no adequate reason for this is offered.
– If somewhere in your application you have provided us with false or misleading information.

What if Internships Australia is unable to find me a placement?

While our success rate is very high, in the unlikely event that we cannot secure you a placement, we will refund you the full Deposit price minus an Admin fee (50AUD).

What does the deposit cover?

Your deposit of 400AUD covers the start of our search for your internship. Having received your deposit, our team will process your documents and begin the search for your perfect Internship match. Please note, the deposit also includes a 50AUD Admin fee. The Admin fee is used to cover any of our related Bank transactions Fee’s/Paypal Credit Card costs and basic handling and administration fees. If your Internship is confirmed, the Admin fee will be included in the total Package price.

Why does Internships Australia require a deposit payment?

Internships Australia requires a deposit payment to ensure your honest and legitimate intent for finding an internship in Australia.

Are there any health preparations that I need to carry out?

There are no vaccinations required for a trip to Australia. That said, it is always recommended that you see your physician at least 4-6 weeks prior to your departure to confirm you’re in good health.

What is the weather like in Australia?

Australia is well known for its excellent weather, with warm temperatures and low annual rainfall across the whole country year round. It is only in the winter that the the southern parts tend to turn cooler but still remain relatively mild. As with all other countries in the southern hemisphere, Australia’s seasons are opposite to those in the north. December to February is summer; March to May is autumn; June to August is winter; and September to November is spring.

How much money would you recommend I budget for a normal month in Australia?

Accommodation, including electricity and water will be, on average, 250AUD per week (Single Room), or 180AU (Shared). Living expenses are around 20 AUD per day on food – with trips and entertainment costs separate.

Where are your internships located in Australia?

Our Internships are typically located in the main cities in Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane & Perth. However, we are able to place interns all over the country.

How good does my English have to be?

We generally ask that our candidates have at least an intermediate to advanced level of English. If you are not feeling entirely confident, we can help find a suitable English Language Course for you.

Are flights and accommodation included?

No, flights to/from Australia are not included. However we can give you advice and find you the best deals on them. We will assist you in finding adequate accommodation during your stay in Australia. Learn more more about our Accommodation Services.

Do I need to be a current student?

Not necessarily, we have many graduates and non graduates come through our doors looking for experience or just wanting to establish connections in their industry of their choice.

Can I receive credits for my University through a placement with Internships Australia?

Yes, most of our interns are completing the compulsory practical component of their University studies. Internships Australia will assist you with all the necessary documents for your University to ensure that you gain credit for your Internship completed in Australia.

How will I be treated during my Internship?

Internships Australia prides itself on the quality Internships it provides. We have close ties to many Australian companies and are familiar with their working practices. Australia’s companies will give you exposure to meaningful and varied tasks.

Do I need any previous experience?

No. All you need is enthusiasm and the drive to succeed in your chosen field. That said, relevant experience in your field is never a bad thing to have prior to your Internship.

What is the support like overseas?

If you are still overseas, our team will be available to contact via Skype/call or email. Before your arrival we will have secured your Internship placement, as well as made all necessary arrangements for your stay, including accommodation.

How much does the Internships Australia program cost?

At Internships Australia we have a fee-based Professional Internship program. Our program includes your Internship placement, as well as everything you need to set yourself up on arrival and have a comfortable stay throughout. Are the internships paid?

Internships Australia specialise in both paid and unpaid Internships. Some Host Organisations choose to remunerate the Intern by assisting with transport costs/accommodation etc. Unpaid Internships, while receiving no remuneration, traditionally give a slightly better overall work experience. The decision to give payment is at all times at the discretion of each and every Organisation. Visit our Stipend Internship section for further information.

Do I need to apply for a visa?

es. If you are an overseas student you will need to apply for a working holiday Visa. Please visit the Australian Immigration website for a list of countries which can apply for the Working Holiday Visa. Please note, some countries have a maximum number of Visa’s, and once sold out, we will no longer be able to assist you. Additionally, if your country has limited Working Holiday Visa spots, please apply to get your Visa first before applying for our Internship program.

When can I start?

You choose when your Internship starts and finishes. It will generally take us 1-2 days to respond to your application, after which we will invite you for a Skype interview. We generally need at least 4 weeks (depending on your requirements) to process your application, so we encourage you not to delay your application for too long. If you do leave your decision till the last minute, feel free to contact us and we will try our best to arrange an Internship for you in what limited time we have.
